In July 2010, three friends with a passion for quality coffee opened a cafe in the heart of Newcastle by the name of Coffee On Crown. After being unable to source the perfectly roasted and blended beans for their shop, they decided to start roasting in house in 2012. With the late Justin Oliver at the helm of the roaster, they grew an enormous following. Coffee on Crown began retailing their signature blend and labelled their product Drop Bear Coffee.

From humble beginnings, Justin continued supplying freshly roasted beans to numerous other coffee enthusiasts including commercial cafe’s and direct to the public. Following the untimely and tragic passing of Justin in late 2017, Drop Bear Coffee Roasters has been handed on to Justin’s good friend, Connor.

With the knowledge passed on from Justin;

Connor continues the love for quality, fresh and simply good coffee. Recently We moved Drop Bear Coffee Co.'s operations to Nundle, NSW, The move allows Drop Bear Coffee Co. to scale production while maintaining its commitment to premium, small-batch roasting.

With a fresh start in Nundle, Connor aims to deepen relationships with regional businesses, attract new wholesale clients, and establish the brand as a staple in the regions hospitality scene.
